Bite To Break is a heavy music band from Wiener Neustadt, Austria, built on a simple idea, take what we love about heavy music, push it further, and see where it takes us.

The band began with a chance meeting between guitarist Lawrence Hildebrand and drummer Konrad Korntheur. The two had first crossed paths through a mutual connection for a jam several years earlier, but it wasn't until they met again years later that something clicked. Both creatively and personally, the connection was immediate. They began meeting several times a week, writing, experimenting and developing their chemistry as musicians and songwriters.

Those first songs aren't the songs Bite To Break play today. They were the foundation for everything that came after, a period of figuring out how to write together, learning each other's strengths, and gradually discovering what kind of music they wanted to make.

The lineup came together one member at a time, often through unlikely circumstances.

Guitarist Philipp Pecolt first met the band when he came to their rehearsal space to pick up a cymbal he had bought from Konrad through a second-hand marketplace. A conversation about music turned into a jam, and the chemistry was undeniable. Philipp brought a different set of influences and a willingness to introduce unorthodox ideas that somehow fit perfectly within what Bite To Break was becoming.

Bass player Michael Schwarz was discovered through an online musicians' forum. His obsession with extreme heaviness, over-the-top compositions and pushing metal beyond its conventional limits became another important part of the band's identity, encouraging the group to question how far they could take an idea before it stopped being heavy, and then finding a way to take it even further.

The final piece of the puzzle was vocalist Patrick Manzey, who came into the picture through a mutual connection at the rehearsal space. After meeting him for the first time, the band immediately felt that he was the right person for the job. There wasn't much time to test that theory: just one week after meeting, Patrick joined the band for their first show. With three completed instrumental compositions to work with, he wrote lyrics for all three and stepped on stage with the band for the first time at a local party.

That show marked the first time Bite To Break performed as a complete lineup, just one week after the lineup itself had been completed.

Since then, the band's identity has continued to develop around a shared understanding of what we want Bite To Break to be: heavy, intense, unpredictable and unwilling to stay inside the boundaries of what heavy music is supposed to sound like.

Each member brings something different to the table. The result isn't about following a formula, but about taking those different influences and finding the point where they come together.

Based in Wiener Neustadt, Bite To Break is still in the early stages of its story. But from the beginning, the goal has remained the same: make something heavy, make it our own, and keep pushing until we find the limit, then break it.
